Reciprocity ~ Community

Reciprocity ~ Community

Welcome to this space of Reciprocity where the essence of love and kindness flourishes. Reciprocity means to return the same way and reminds us to return acts of goodwill in the same spirit they were given. It is a beautiful way of recognizing our own gifts and continuously seeking opportunities to share them with our community.

I recall a heartfelt moment when a dear kūpuna graciously placed a lei made of beautiful yellow and white plumeria flowers around my neck. The soft petals emitted a sweet scent, instantly captivating my senses. A smile naturally spread across my face, reflecting the joy and gratitude what welled up within me.

Accompanying this precious gift, the kūpuna shared these words with me:

"The more you give, the more you receive, and the least you receive from your giving is a smile."These words resonated deeply, emphasizing the immeasurable value of giving selflessly. This is the true meaning of reciprocity. It is not about expecting something in return or keeping a tally of favors, bur rather about embodying the spirit of love and kindness and recognizing the interconnectedness of our actions.

A smile, a simple gesture, can be a powerful reward that brightens both the giver and the receiver. Within this space, I am eager to share a multitude of treasures that have influenced and enriched my personal healing journey. Here, you will find not only my own thoughts but also a collection of beloved books, esteemed authors, inspiring quotes, compassionate healers and talented artists who have touched my soul and contributed to my growth, and I am honored to pass on these gifts to you.Let us create a tapestry of interconnectedness, weaving threads of inspiration, understanding and compassion. May this space serve as a beacon of light, encouraging the continual cycle of giving and receiving. Remember that your contributions, no matter how small, have the potential to make a big difference in the lives of others.Once again, welcome. Embrace the beauty of reciprocity, and may your presence here be filled with discovery, meaning, and the transformative power of shared love and kindness.

Know the ways of the ones who take care of you,
so that you may take care of them.
Introduce yourself.
Be accountable as the one who comes asking for life.
Ask permission before taking. Abide by the answer.
Never take the first.
Never take the last.
Take only what you need. Take only that which is given.
Never take more than half. Leave some for others.
Harvest in a way that minimizes harm.
Use it respectfully.
Never waste what you have taken.
Share.
Give thanks for what you have been given.
Give a gift, in reciprocity for what you have taken.
Sustain the ones who sustain you and the earth will last forever.
